What I Learned After Watching 7 Viral Brand Videos

When you are creating short form video content for your brand - what are you focusing on? Video length? Trending sound? Hashtags? Have you thought about what qualities your brand has built in to go viral? Or adding a “viral quality” touch to your videos?

As someone who works in social media (and genuinely loves it) I spend a LOT of time watching TikToks. I pulled my 7 favorite viral brand TikToks and here is what I learned:

  1. Building a Chocolate Factory

    1. Generally, Mid Day Squares has built their business around going viral. They came to market being super transparent, creating video content of EVERYTHING they do, sharing the ups and downs of startup life, and their messaging is all about taking down large chocolate brands such as Hershey. This video in particular not only tells a complete brand story, but shows raw and real clips as well as factory videos (and we all know people love watching process videos). They also have deemed their video style to be like a reality show. Want

  2. Sake Soda Review

    1. I love seeing this brand all over my FYP. Their signature video style is simply in-store tasting videos. Filming this allows for capturing genuine reviews (good or bad) and that makes for great content - people love real reactions. That along with the founders fun outfit and general personality have made this brand succeed on TikTok.

  3. Raw Billboard

    1. Deux is a fun raw cookie dough brand and generally does well on TikTok. They generally like pushing boundaries and this billboard did just that. They really believe in their brand and their sense of humor and it’s paying off. When a brand purchases a billboard you are paying for impressions, but then that going viral on TikTok is a huge added benefit.

  4. Cookie Review

    1. We LOVE street interviews and interactions - you see this succes for almost anyone, especially when not staged (we can tell). If you ever walk around Soho you will most likely come across at least one street tester/interviewer - and doing that for your brand in NYC means you never know who you will run into. This brand got lucky to come across two influencers (from Barstool) to give their genuine reviews of the product.

  5. Grape Soda

    1. I love this style of video - the duet! Brands, this is such an easy way to create content and do more education around your brand (because what brand doesn’t think they are an industry expert). Poppi took the opportunity to respond in a duet with this video talking about the shocking amount of sugar in that grape soda.

  6. Creating Suckerz

    1. Another great example of a brand being transparent and talking about how they came to be. We see this content type succeed across the board. Sharing with your community how you put time into testing and building something until you felt it was perfect can do a lot for your brand.

  7. End of the Cone

    1. Honestly, this one may have gotten a bit lucky, but it was a simple video that showcased the product, something relatable, and used a trending sound. Sometimes it can be just that easy.
